Economy and banking work clasped all economy branches, especially big systems, Electrical industry of Serbia in Kosmet, R.M.H.K “Trepcha” – Zvechan, “Feronikl” – Gligovac, Cement factory “Shar” - General Jankovic, whole metalworking industry, construction, agriculture and grape & wine production.

During this decade, besides short term financing, the bank was investing in reconstruction of village households and some economically important capacities.

During these years, the bank successfully dealt with Kosovo and Metohia economy problems, bankruptcy of ex Kosovo bank – Bankos, economy sanctions, hyperinflation and got through uncertainty, bombing and war.
We lost property and liability rights of 10.093 millions USD when KFOR and UNMIK ground troops came in Kosovo on 11th of June 1999. That day bank's local offices in Prizren, Pec, Uroshevac, Gnjilan and all offices and sub branches in Kosmet practically stopped working and over 200 workers migrated to Serbia and Montenegro leaving their jobs and homeland.

On 12th July 1999, the bank moved its central office from Prishtina to Zvechan. Today we have 70 workers dealing with banking business in north Kosovo in Zvechan, Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavic and Zubin Potok, in central Kosovo in Grachanica, Priluzje and Shtrbac and in region of Gnjiane in Ranilug, Partesh, Shilovo and Vrbovac. We have offices in Rashka, Kraljevo, Belgrade and Nish as well.

The bank has been working according to Resolution 1244 by UN Safety Council and by regulations of National bank of Yugoslavia, realizing part of SRY's economical souverenity in Kosmet and providing banking services to the citizens, economy, entrepreneurs, with full liquidity and solvency.

Director of the bank is Mr. Dimitrije Ljiljak economy expert, President of Managing Board is Mr. Slavolju Vujovic - director of Battery Industry from Gnjilane -BIG, and president of Supervising Board is Mr. Tioslav Lazarevic - assistant for economy and financing of RMHK "Trepcha" - Zvechan director.

Kosovo Metohian bank A.D. is authorized for payment operations outside of Yugoslavia, has medium level license from National Bank of Yugoslavia and keeps correspondence with foreign banks.

The bank's balance on 31st of December 2001 was 494 million diners or 8.2 millions EURO. The bank has no debts concerning old foreign currency savings, nor has payables concerning foreign guaranties and foreign credits.

The bank covers strategic area, very rich in natural resources and has already prepared funding programs for resources that bring significant profit, and programs for village households renewal where private property is not limitation.

With our modern equipment and competent staff we have finished all preparations for taking over businesses for payment operations on entire region of Kosovo and Metohia and Serbia.
